WHAT IS THE COURSE ABOUT?

The Surf Performance Course is a holistic approach to ensuring lifelong surf health and fitness.

Surfing is an athletic way of life; our ten-session workshop-style course shares a system of training principles that will help you develop, strengthen and maintain your athleticism as a surfer.

The content includes training methodologies from a series of scientifically researched-based training systems known to be at the top of the field in sports performance, support and athletic development. This wholesome approach to supporting your surfing will give you the framework you need to ensure you surf at your best for years to come!

If you cant surf as much as you’d like to and you’d like to be more surf fit, or you surf a lot, and you feel you need to support your athleticism so you can go harder and recover better, this course is for you. You will gain complete knowledge on supporting your surfing alongside physical qualities that will make you stronger, more durable, pain-free and capable in the surf, keeping you primed, fit and ready.

WHAT TYPE OF SURFERS?

 

All levels and ages of surfers can learn how to improve their performance, health and longevity with this unique Surf Performance Course.

 

You will learn techniques from a combination of training systems that train professional athletes in their careers and provide rehabilitation and support for people of all ages and sporting ability. The course is a practical methodology for lifelong surf health and fitness. Beginner or intermediate surfers can use it to improve their athleticism for the demands of the ocean and the sport—advanced surfers to support their athleticism and enhance abilities in the surf.

Session 2 – Surf Flexibility/Mobility

Topic: Foundations of Movement

Practical: Stretches for Surfers

 

Session 3 – Surf Preparation / Surf Movement Session 1

Practical: Surf Warm-up Session

Practical: Beginner Surf Movement Flow-Style Workout

 

Session 4 – Surf Strength/Durability/Endurance 1

Topic: Upper-body + Paddle Conditioning

Practical: Upper-body + Paddling Workouts

 

Session 5 – Surf Strength/Durability/Endurance 2

Topic: Lower-body + Core Conditioning

Practical: Lower-body + Core Workouts

 

Session 6 – Surf Movement Session 2

Topic: Surf Movement Patterns

Practical: Advanced Surf Movement Flow-Style Workout

 

Session 7 – Surf Recovery

Topic: Recovery Protocols

Practical: Recovery Tissue release + Stretches

 

Session 8 – Surf Breath-work

Topic: Performance Breathwork + Hold-downs

Practical: Improving CO2 Tolerance

 

Session 9 – Foundation Training

Topic: Posture and Injury Prevention

Practical: Foundation Training Session

  

Session 10 – Daily Routine / Surf Nutrition
