WHAT WE DISCOVERED

We discovered how limiting and frustrating it can be when your body lets you down in the ocean and mountains and how it hinders your progress, enjoyment, and stoke.

We know how it feels when you start to hurt after sessions, when your fitness and skill begin to decline as you naturally age and life consequently gets busier, we've been there and have tried many things to help manage pain, deal with injuries and improve our abilities and longevity in the surf and on the mountain.

Initially, we tried to remedy the situation with self-prescribed exercises from YouTube and social media, which ultimately left us feeling confused, uncertain and misled, wasted valuable years we didn't have, and in some cases did more harm than good.

We also took up yoga, bought more fancy gear, manned up and hammered in more laps, and spent more time getting pounded in the surf, yet our surfing, riding, and aches and pains were not getting any better.

All this led us on a quest to find better answers and solutions for our health, fitness, performance, and longevity as surf and snow sports athletes.

What we discovered is...

We needed a more scientifically proven and structured approach instead of pushing through injury and pain, which only worsened things, and following the same old workouts and routines that weren't improving our surfing or riding.

We found it takes proper assessment and the right program with specific exercises, correct form, sets, and reps, coupled with efficient and effective warm-ups and recovery protocols, and mobility, flexibility, and movement routines, to enhance and improve a persons performance as a board rider, just like it does for any other athlete.

If we had known all this when attempting to self-prescribe exercise programs, we could have saved so much time, effort, uncertainty, struggle, frustration and pain in the first place.

Today, after several years of study and practising sports-orientated fitness, movement, and rehab while working with novice to professional board sports athletes, we now help a diverse range of riders become less susceptible to injury, alleviate pain, shed weight, move better, and become more athletic and physically capable for the sports they love.

We do this online via the Mtnwave Fitness App, where we provide personal programs tailored to each individuals goals and needs, which are adjusted to fit their schedules, it keeps the user on track with built in reminders, and to make it hassle and thought free everything's laid out into simple follow-along workouts and routines, all it takes is following the steps to surf or snow sports success.

We've also found that accountability produces the best results, and it works best when you're around like-minded people. Our clients like us wanted to be around others they could relate to, and most people don't have access to a surf or snow sports specific gym in their town, so we created an online gym and fitness community for surfers and snowboarders called The Hub.
